What, you mean parents should share tasks according to what they are good at and want to do instead of some arbitrary division?

This is groundbreaking! I'm floored!

The title of that article is somewhat misleading given the content.

1. That article title is deliberately misleading and inflammatory. I realize it's a tactic to garner more page hits, but still.

2. The central thesis of the article - and the research - is pretty hurp durp, and frankly downright Marxist - from each according to his abilities and all that. Of COURSE people sharing a household should split domestic duties according to their skill sets and preferences rather than through some arbitrary coin flip.

3. You may think that this thesis strikes some mighty blow against feminism whereas in fact it does quite the opposite; the clear moral of the author's story is that when [straight partnered] women stop internalizing the idea that they're in charge of domestic tasks and have to supervise and criticize their helplessly incompetent husbands, the husbands learn how to get shit done just fine.
